26th-Nov-2006 03:47 am - Small Update...
Tim from Scary-go-round
Cali = Great
Life = Good
Money = Free? I dunno, I haven't really been doing any work here in Cali, and I'm still getting paid by your tax dollars. Fools.

So far, I've had three or four typoes (whoa!) in this post. I'm pretty retarded, and the government pays me for this. Yay! (Thats not even counting the few I just made! I are smart. Don't judge me.)

P.S. William, get my number from my mom. Then call me. You bastard.

I start class soon. I'm worried, because I don't know if I'll be able to keep up with the pace the teachers set. One year to learn Farsi isn't much time, ya know?

I also sorta hate being alone. And by alone, I mean in a 'emotional' kinda way. Physically, I'm never really alone, ever. There's almost always a shipmate with me, apart from in the Head and whatnot. There are a few people out here that I'd like to start an emotional kinda friendship with, but I don't know where to start. Sadly, said people are in the same branch as I am, which makes things difficult. Work and Play shouldn't mix, ya know?

I dunno. Life, even though amazingly easy right now, is also complicated as fuck.

But on the plus side, I'm gonna try to update more often, and with meaningful stuff every now and then too!

So a shipmate and myself were out in town, hanging out and whatnot, when we got on the topic of what we're gonna do when we're out of the Navy.

I told him that I would probably try to work for the FBI or something like that, protecting our country still.

He, on the other hand, wants to move to France and fuck around out there with them. He even said that "France is the greatest nation in the World"..

This, in turn, made my Red, White, and Blue blood boil, and I promptly wanted to beat the hell out of my Shipmate. I mean, I'm in the U.S. Navy. Blue and Gold is in my blood now, and always will be.

Sometimes, all I can really say is .. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

I've realized that without things to do, I buy things. Alot.

Just today, I bought season 1 and 2 of Lost. And I'm not 100% sure why I did. I love the show, no doubt.. but enough to buy both seasons, together? Meh...

Anyways, now I'm kinda broke. Sorta. I know I have a check coming in a few days. I just kinda hate knowing I have to watch my money.

I'm gonna have to cut down on my spending next month. I MUST save some money. No if, ands, or buts.

So a month from now, I'll post again on if I'm keeping up with that whole "Saving" thing. ~crosses fingers~

Not really sure what to type here. Since last I wrote, nothing has really happened except time has marched on.

I can run a 1 & 1/2 mile in 11:30. Thats a big thing for me, ya'll know.

I have a DS again, thank god. I'm looking forward to getting Children of Mana on the 30th of this month, so I can play it while I'm on SIQ from Dental on the 31st. >.>

Other than that, I'm just kinda out here in Cali relaxing and enjoying myself, making friends and having fun.

Go Navy!

Clap your feet? ~raised eyebrow~

Seriously though, life is good. I'm doing basicly the same thing I was doing at home, except in Cali and getting paid for it. Hurrah.

Money, it seems, doesn't grow on trees. It actually grows on the goverment, which will give you said money to sit down all day and type at a computer.

And money is what I need. I've gotta buy a laptop here in a month or two, and I've gotta try to build some GOOD credit, so that means I get to SPEND money I don't have yet on things I probably don't need yet. I love it, in a wierd sorta way.

Anyways, I'm sure T is gonna read this, and I wave at you, but you need to mail me my hard drives, keyboard, mouse, mousepad, and civi-clothes ASAP. Like, right now. Stop reading this, and mail me my things. Or I'll mail you a radioactive lizard.

Anyways, I'm off to look up really cool laptops and maybe go hang out with shipmates. We'll talk about Cali-cool things, like how I can smell the Ocean from my room, and how seagulls are actually devil birds. :P

Dear God, I've started playing Diablo II again. Please don't smite me down yet. I need to get some better items first. ^_^
5th-Jun-2006 07:33 pm - Crafter/Artisan
Tim from Scary-go-round
So I stole the idea for this from a friend of mine (Caleb), since he put this on his blog-thing.

I'm apparently a Crafter/Artisan (iStP).

"The Crafter Artisans are not only concrete in speech and utilitarian in getting things done, they are also directive and attentive in their social roles. Though directive like their Promoter counterparts, their directiveness is leavened by a good deal of attentiveness and seclusiveness. They do not approach strangers readily, but once in contact do not hesitate to tell them what to do. And they can be quite forceful in this, such that others tend to do their bidding.

Like the other Artisans, Crafters live a life of artful action, but their particular nature is most easily seen in their mastery of tools of any and all kinds, from microscopic drill to supersonic jet, from potter's wheel to grand piano, from a camera to a clarinet. Sometimes Crafters will use their body as a tool. A tool is any implement that extends or varies our human powers -- vehicles, musical instruments, cutting devices, and weapons are just four of the many categories of the tools that surround us. Most of us use tools in some capacity, of course, but Crafters (only ten per cent of the general population) are the true virtuosos of tool work, with a natural ability to command tools, to bend them to their wishes, and to become adept at all the crafts requiring tool skills. Even from an early age Crafters are drawn to tools as to a magnet; tools fall into their hands demanding use, and they must manipulate them. Indeed, if a given tool, whether scalpel or earthmover, is operated with a precision that defies belief, that operator is likely an Crafter. "

I dunno...

Wonderful. Just amazing..

I play WoW (World of Warcraft), and I've got a level 45 Tauren Warrior. Hurrah for me, right.

Anyways, I'm part of a large guild thats been around on Zul'jin for a bit more than a year. And now we're running Zul'Gurub and Ahn'Qiraj.

What does this mean to me? It means that now I have to start worrying about stupid fricking DKP.

(( To those who don't know what DKP, it stands for "Dragon-Kill Points". Basicly, its a system of points we gamers have had forced upon us by EQ nerds that gives each person who helps in a large group 'raid' or 'instance' a certain number of DKP Points for killing bosses, being there for X amount of time, etc. This is also a bad thing, as you can be given minus dkp if you frick things up ))

Well, I personally hate this system. I think it should have stayed in EverQuest and died along with it. Why? Because it gives non-casual players more points for having no life, thus allowing them more points to get items with, while I just have to keep doing raids when i can, hoping to have more DKP than anyone else when an item I want drops.

And I'm not even able to DO these higher instances yet, so I'll be starting at a lower number than others when I can finally start doing these things.

~~~~
But Atre, what can we put in the place of the DKP system?
Nothing! If you can wear an item, fricking roll "need" on it. If there are 3 warriors, and a warrior item drops, then we all roll on it and whoever wins, gets it! Problem solved. I don't care if you've got no life and have more "DKP" than me. Bully for you! I have just as much right to that 'leet' item that you do, since I am in the group with you and helped down that big boss to get that drop.
